It’s Great To Be the CEO

As the lady of the house I wear many hats and have many responsibilities. Director of housekeeping, Executive Chef, and Finance Director are the first roles that come to mind.  When I was a child my mom used to refer to herself as the “chief cook and bottle washer” even though she was so much more. These days; I like to think of my role in my home as the Chief Executive Officer.

It’s my job to ensure that the household operates efficiently and living in a Home Creations home sure helps me do that.  It’s easy to sit in my home office and prepare the budget for our utilities because of the energy efficiency features that yield *energy savings month after month no matter the season. The warranties in place in our new home  allow to me allocate funds for vacations rather than home repairs and the **equity that we are building by living in a new community reinforces the fact that we made the right choice in purchasing a new home over an existing one.

Tax time is upon us, and while I can’t say figuring my taxes are at the top of my list of fun thing to do,  it is nice to be able to reduce my taxable income because of the ***mortgage deductions that accompany home ownership.  All in all, I feel pretty good about my role as CEO.  Now if my “shareholder,” also known as my husband, would just consider raising my salary…

*The average Home Creations energy efficient home should save a homeowner up to 30% in heating and cooling costs

**New home values are rising 6% to 8%  annually in Oklahoma City.

*** Depending on the amount of mortgage interest you pay per year, your deduction can save you several thousand in taxable income if you itemize.
